How CMB Intel pages are produced, sourced and reviewed.

How pages are built

CMB Intel is the public reference layer of the Chokepoint Mapping Bureau, an independent geopolitical intelligence practice based in São Paulo. Every encyclopedia page follows the same production discipline:

  • Every load-bearing number carries a source and a date. Primary sources (official statistics, IEA, EIA, USGS, UNCTAD, IMF, company filings) are preferred; specialist data providers and reference press come second. Blogs and aggregators are never a sole source.
  • Nothing is estimated silently. When a structurally necessary figure cannot be verified, it is flagged in the text rather than invented.
  • Pages are dated, not timeless. Each key fact states when it was true. Reference content ages well when the reader knows the vintage of every number.
  • Human review before publication. Every page is reviewed by the author before it goes live.
  • Descriptive, never directional. Pages describe exposure and dependency. They do not recommend positions, publish price targets or constitute investment advice.

The signal layer

The live signal blocks on each page are produced by the CMB Intel Engine, the Bureau's monitoring system. Signals are perishable by design; as they age, relevant events are promoted to the permanent incident timelines of the corresponding pages.
